The alchemists bring the Bjørnkær set to life after 700 years underground.

The medieval castle of Bjørnkær
from the 1300s harbored an incredible secret for 700 years. During
excavations of the ruins in 1930, the remains of what turned out to be
Europe’s largest collection of distillation apparatuses from the Middle Ages
were found in a well.
What would a Danish lord in the mid-1300s need distillation apparatuses
for, designed to produce very strong alcohol?
The Black Death, the plague, struck Venice in 1348. Doctors began making
medicine with strong alcohol. The alcohol was mixed with herbs and other grim
ingredients that nobody dares to mention today and used as palliative
medicine for the plague victims.
In 1350-55, the plague hit Horsens and its surroundings. Perhaps the lord
of Bjørnkær was ready with medicine, and it was necessary, as 40-50% of the
population died.
Perhaps the alchemists had been tasked with something entirely different.
Internal wars ravage Denmark, and foresighted warlords always have an ace up
their sleeve
