The scribe nun teaches you to carve a quill pen

Try your hand at carving your
own quill pen when Cistercian scribe nun Lise Kirketerp teaches you this
craft in the workshop tent “Værkstedet”.  As special carving knives are used for the
craft, there is limited space and age restrictions (from 15 years old, and
children accompanied by an adult). While waiting for your turn, you can try
writing with a feather – Gothic or runes.

When the Cistercian scribe nun is not busy in the “Workshop,” you
can meet her at her stall in the Monastery Garden. Here, there will be
fascinating stories about the Gothic script, lessons in the alphabet, and the
opportunity to try your hand at writing yourself.
