Burgenda – Medieval camp life

Burgenda is a medieval association based in Rønne, Bornholm. The name Burgenda is the Latin name for Bornholm and reflects our strong connection to the island's history.
We present life in a traveling mercenary and military unit from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance – with knights, soldiers, craftsmen and kitchen staff. Through camp life, performances and historical communication, we bring history to life at markets and in educational contexts.
At the same time, we work with HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) and stagefight, where historical fighting techniques are combined with safe and entertaining fighting displays.
