No festival without volunteers – it’s as simple as that.

Do You Want to be a Volunteer at Horsens Medieval Festival?

Volunteers are a crucial factor in ensuring that Horsens Medieval Festival can exist. When you sign up you will become an important part of our team, and the community that makes it all work.

As a medieval volunteer, there are different option for you to help out both before, during and after the festival. We have a task for every type. For example – you can  help out in the information booth, become a guide for performing groups or help with more practical tasks around the festivalsite.

If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact us through our volunteer email here

You can sign up as a volunteer for the Horsens Medieval Festival 2026 at the bottom of this page.

  • As a volunteer, we expect you to work approximately 12 hours over the Festival period.
  • All communication with the festival or volunteer coordinator goes through email

If you are having trouble translating  it, please do not hesitate to write and we will try to guide you through. Contact projectkoordinator Isabel at iyo@horsens.dk

As a volunteer at Horsens Medieval Festival, you can help with the following tasks:
  • Area Volunteer
As the eyes of the festival office, you will be assigned to a specific area of the festival grounds (for example the Marketplace or the Children’s Area), where you help ensure that both festival guests and participants are doing well and that the festival runs smoothly.
Please note: As an area volunteer in the Courtyard and the Monastery Garden, you will experience a higher level of activity than in other areas, as you will play a larger role in helping run the program.
  • The Artists’ Café
Do you have a natural host or hostess hidden inside you? Join the team in the Artists’ Café, where performers, actors, and musicians come to relax and enjoy a drink between performances.
  • Information Booth
At the entrance to the festival grounds, you will find the festival’s information booth, where guests can ask about anything and everything. Questions may range from directions to where to find the best mead on the grounds. The information booth is also the meeting point for lost property and lost children
  • Festival Office
Come into the heart of the festival, where the festival office handles all kinds of possible and impossible tasks for the festival’s many participants. Here, you will help check in stallholders when they arrive at the festival and assist with both large and small office tasks.
  • The Ad Hoc Team
Are you quick on your feet and do you love the unpredictable? As part of the ad hoc team, you help solve the tasks that arise around the festival grounds during the festival
Please note: There may be periods when not much is happening and other periods when things get much busier — but on the bright side, there are plenty of snacks and coffee while you wait!
